Nagpur: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur has launched a Case Research Centre in collaboration with Ivey Publishing of Canada.Â
The new centre aims to strengthen management education by producing case studies that reflect real business situations in India. It will support managers, businesses, and public institutions with practical, India-centric learning material.
According to the institute, this centre makes IIM Nagpur the fourth IIM in the country and the only third-generation IIM to set up such a facility. The leadership said the centre will focus on case studies built around Indian companies, start-ups, government schemes, and social organisations. This will help align management learning with challenges and opportunities unique to the Indian landscape.
Collaboration Beyond the Campus
The institute highlighted that the centre’s benefits extend far beyond its own campus. Nine well-known business schools across India have joined as member schools. Through this association, they will gain direct access to shared knowledge, case-writing support, and learning resources. The arrangement is expected to build a wider network of educators and researchers contributing to case development in the country.
Representatives from Ivey Publishing said the launch opens the door for deeper collaboration and allows Indian business stories to reach classrooms across the world. They noted that Indian cases already make up a significant portion of Ivey Publishing’s collection. This shows the strong global interest in Indian business narratives and their relevance for learners beyond India.
Growing Global Demand for Indian Cases
Ivey Publishing produces hundreds of case studies every year, and a considerable share of its authors come from India. The organisation said this number continues to rise due to the strong demand for Indian business content. They added that business schools from Canada to Australia increasingly seek material that helps students understand Indian markets.
The team also described the Case Research Centre as a platform that can highlight the fast-changing and diverse business environment in India. They called it a story engine capable of capturing local insights, innovation, and new business models that shape India’s growth.
Rising Need for India-focused Case Studies
Ivey Publishing noted that India’s business education sector has changed significantly in recent decades. As Indian companies expand globally and the economy grows, business schools now need teaching material that mirrors this transformation. The shift has brought more demand for case studies that explain Indian business realities, strategic decisions, and global ambitions. The new Case Research Centre aims to meet this need by producing material that reflects India’s fast-moving business environment.
