Election Commission orders single day largest reshuffle in West Bengal

Kolkata: The Election Commission has transfered 173 police officers in West Bengal including 31 from Kolkata police stations.

Another 83 BDOs who also act as assistant returning officers were also transfered.

This was one of the largest single-day reshuffles by the Election Commission.

In Kolkata, STF inspector Soumitra Basu has been appointed the Bhowanipore OC, while Nirupam Nath and Susanta Mondal were appointed Park Steeet and Jorasanko OCs respectively.

Even Alipore, Garden Reach, Entally, Gariahat, Bowbazar and New Market police stations have got new OCs.

Bhangar and Polerhat police stations too got new OCs.

Another 142 officers were transfered to new postings as IC or OC in West Bengal Police.

Purba Medinipure witnessed 13 transfers, South 24 Parganas 11 and North 24 Parganas 8.
