New Delhi: The Government of India has assigned Praveen M. Khanooja the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Engineers India Limited.
The decision received approval from the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and was conveyed by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Khanooja will hold the position for three months or until the appointment of a regular CMD, whichever comes earlier.
A 1994-batch officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Khanooja currently serves as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and an M.Tech in Management and Systems.
Over the years, he has handled assignments in Defence Audit, Railways Audit, and State Government Accounts and Audit. He has also worked in several central government finance roles.
Khanooja has served as a government nominee director on the board of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and was reappointed for another three-year term. His earlier roles include Director (Finance) in the Department of Revenue, Additional Director General in the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau, and Director General of the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell. He has also led compliance and performance audits involving international bodies such as the FAO, WIPO, and WTO.
