Bengaluru, June 26(APAC Media): Airbound has partnered with the Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation to build a large-scale drone delivery network across the Amaravati Capital Region, with operations set to begin from Guntur. The project aims to strengthen logistics connectivity between Amaravati, Vijayawada and Guntur while supporting healthcare and commercial deliveries.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Under the partnership, Bengaluru-based Airbound will work with government agencies and private stakeholders to develop drone routes, secure regulatory approvals and gradually expand operations across the region.
The Andhra Pradesh government and Airbound have set a target of handling 10,000 drone flights every day over the next year. If achieved, the project could become one of the largest commercial drone delivery networks globally.
Airbound will deploy its lightweight blended-wing-body tailsitter drone, designed for transporting small packages across short and medium distances. The company says the aircraft can lower delivery costs significantly compared to conventional transport methods. It has already completed more than 10,000 commercial drone flights, including healthcare logistics operations with Narayana Health in Bengaluru.
The project is expected to improve mid-mile connectivity for healthcare, e-commerce and logistics services while creating opportunities for investment, employment and drone ecosystem development in Andhra Pradesh. The rollout will begin with pilot operations before expanding to a larger network covering key urban and semi-urban areas.
