New Delhi, July 16 (APAC Media): State-owned NMDC Limited has appointed Vivek Nishant Nath as its new Director (Commercial) following approval from the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
The appointment was communicated through an order issued by the Ministry of Steel on 14 July 2026, which was subsequently disclosed by NMDC in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on 15 July 2026.
Vivek Nishant Nath will serve as Director (Commercial) on the NMDC Board for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Currently Serving at Odisha Mining Corporation
Before his appointment to NMDC, Vivek Nishant Nath was serving as Chief General Manager at Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC).
With extensive experience in the mining sector, he is expected to oversee NMDC’s commercial operations, including marketing, sales, business development, customer engagement, and commercial strategy.
Appointment to NMDC Steel Board
The Ministry of Steel has also approved his appointment as Director (Commercial) on the Board of NMDC Steel Limited. His tenure on the steel company’s board will take effect from the date he assumes charge and will continue until further orders.
NMDC is India’s largest iron ore producer and a leading public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, engaged in the exploration and production of iron ore and other minerals.
