Guwahati: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) and the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) have collaborated to establish a research centre on both of their campuses.
This partnership is set to advance technological developments and offer essential support to research scholars and young scientists in their academic pursuits.
The initial focus areas for the joint research centre include three emerging technologies: Additive Manufacturing, Semiconductor Technology, and Green Energy, including Battery and Hydrogen technologies.
Industry experts, such as Chuhao Chen from Delta Inc. and Kevin Cheng from Foxconn Technology Centre, have contributed significantly to this collaborative initiative.
This partnership was strengthened further through a symposium hosted jointly by IIT Guwahati and NTUST Taiwan.
The symposium, titled Semiconductor Technology, Additive Manufacturing, and Packaging (STAMP-2023), took place recently at the IIT Guwahati campus and featured active participation from experts in academia and industry, representing India, Taiwan, and the Czech Republic.
The event revolved around three main areas: Semiconductor technology discussions, covering topics like Hi-power devices, Silicon Photonics, and Compound Semiconductors; Advanced Manufacturing, with a specific emphasis on Additive Manufacturing; and Energy-related subjects, including Li-ion batteries, Green Hydrogen, and Thermal management.
Notable speakers shared their views on these subjects, developing meaningful discussions and exchange of knowledge.
