New Delhi: India is set to witness an unprecedented surge in its data science education sector, fuelled by the global demand for big data talent. According to the “Data Science Education Report 2023,” the worldwide data science education sector is expected to reach an impressive $378.7 billion by 2030.
In parallel, India’s own sector is set to experience exponential growth, catapulting from $204.23 million in 2023 to a remarkable $1.391 billion by 2028, showcasing a notable compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 57.52 percent.
This surge is attributed to a paradigm shift towards data-driven decision-making across industries, accompanied by substantial growth in the online education sector, projected to soar from $76.20 million to $533.69 million.
The job market for big data and analytics is anticipated to boom, with 215,793 positions available, set to exceed 338,000 by 2028. Leading recruiters such as Amazon, AWS, Bain and Company, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and Google are actively seeking data science professionals, offering competitive annual compensation packages ranging from Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 35.1 lakh.
India is solidifying its position as a global hub for big data analytics, with an expected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30.1 percent. The sector is projected to surge from $5.7 billion in 2022 to $30.7 billion by 2027, claiming a 32 percent share of the worldwide analytics market.
Critical roles driving this growth include Data Scientists, data analysts, business analysts, financial analysts, big data engineers, data specialists, business intelligence analysts, and data science managers.
The report underscores an escalating demand for professionals skilled in natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision, key technologies propelling innovation in AI applications across diverse industries.
