Jammu: Tata Motors has delivered state-of-the-art Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Jammu Smart City Limited. This milestone is part of a broader initiative led by the Housing and Urban Development Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
Manufactured in India using cutting-edge technology, these emission-free electric buses boast advanced amenities and are powered by state-of-the-art electric power systems. IAS Rahul Yadav, CEO of Jammu Smart City Ltd, emphasised the commitment to enhancing mass mobility, safety, and sustainability, providing greater access and convenience for commuters.
The introduction of these environmentally friendly buses not only meets rigorous quality standards but also aligns with collective efforts to improve air quality and reduce the carbon footprint in the city. The addition of electric buses is deemed vital for Jammu’s transportation system.
The Tata Ultra EV, renowned for its fully electric powertrain, energy optimisation, and zero emissions, has covered more than 10 crore kilometres collectively with an uptime of over 95%. This delivery of electric buses is part of a larger order to supply, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses each in Srinagar and Jammu.
