Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. The theme of the Summit is ‘Gateway to the Future’ and includes the participation of 34 partner countries and 16 partner organisations. PM Modi outlined his vision for India’s development, focusing on becoming ‘Viksit’ by 2047 and the next 25 years as ‘Amrit Kaal.’
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of futuristic technologies, AI, and innovation in his address. He mentioned cooperation in the automobile, technology, and manufacturing sectors with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mr. Petr Fiala. He urged attendees to visit the trade show, which showcased products made with state-of-the-art technology in sectors like E-Mobility, Start-Ups, Blue Economy, Green Energy, and Smart Infrastructure.
Additionally, PM Modi elaborated on the government’s focus on structural reforms, including advancements in green and alternative sources of energy, digital inclusion, optical fibre to every village, and the roll-out of 5G. He touched upon the overall record increase in exports, reflecting advancements in technology and trade.
Modi emphasised the importance of sustainable industries, manufacturing and infrastructure, new age skills, futuristic technologies, AI, and innovation. He also highlighted the modern policy improvements towards logistics and east of transportation, mentioning the rise in the number of airports, doubling of India’s national highway network, tripling of metro network, dedicated freight corridors, national waterways, and the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor announced during G20.
Highlighting India’s deepening ties with the UAE, PM Modi mentioned partnerships in renewable energy, healthcare, and significant investments in India’s port infrastructure. PM Modi emphasised that India is viewed as an important pillar of stability, a trustworthy partner, and a contributor to global welfare.
India’s economic progress was highlighted, noting its rise to the 5th largest economy globally and the expectation to become one of the top 3 in the coming years. PM Modi discussed structural reforms in the Indian economy, including banking system robustness, ease of business due to compliance reduction, GST implementation, FDI openings, and significant infrastructure investments.
Reflecting on India’s priorities, PM Modi outlined the importance of renewable energy, indicating a commitment to sustainable and clean energy solutions. The Prime Minister noted improvements in Ease of Living, poverty reduction, rising middle-class income, and increased female workforce participation. PM Modi urged investors to become part of India’s journey, emphasising opportunities in logistics, transportation, and various sectors showcased at the trade show.
The Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 is portrayed as a gateway for investors, shaping a new generation of creators and consumers in India. Conceptualised in 2003, the Summit has evolved as a global forum for business collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships. The 10th edition celebrates “20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success.”
Key industry figures such as Lakshmi Mittal (ArcelorMittal), Toshihiro Suzuki (Suzuki Motor Corporation), Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Group), and others addressed the occasion, praising the Prime Minister’s vision. Various international dignitaries, including H.R.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and leaders from Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UK, the Czech Republic, and others, addressed the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024.
