New Delhi: IES officer Bhumika Verma has been appointed the Director in the Department of Expenditure, a division of the Ministry of Finance. The decision was conveyed through an official order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Thursday. Verma’s selection comes under the Central Staffing Scheme, and she will serve for a term of five years or until further notice, starting from the date she assumes office.
Verma, a 2007-batch Indian Economic Service (IES) officer, is currently serving as Director (G20) in the Department of Economics Affairs within the Ministry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (BA) and a Master’s degree in Economics (MA) from Lucknow University.
Her appointment follows a recommendation for Central deputation by the Department of Economic Affairs. The order directs her immediate release from current duties, with instructions to assume her new role in the Department of Expenditure.
