Guwahati: IAS officer Ravi Kota has taken charge as the next Chief Secretary of Assam during a ceremony held at the secretariat on March 31. Kota is taking charge from retired Paban Kumar Borthakur.
Kota, from the 1993 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, was in charge of departments such as Industries, Commerce, Public Enterprises, and Finance. Though no longer responsible for Finance, he will continue overseeing Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprises, according to an official order.
Upon taking charge, Kota said, “I seek support from all the people and colleagues to take forward the work of my predecessor. I hope to contribute to the development work being undertaken by the Assam government.” He also expressed his wish to streamline the implementation of infrastructure projects across the state.
