New Delhi: Sheyphali B. Sharan has been appointed the Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau, succeeding Manish Desai upon his retirement. She has more than thirty years of experience and is a member of the 1990 batch of the Indian Information Service.
Sharan has managed media publicity for ministries like Finance, Health and Family Welfare, and Information and Broadcasting. She has also served as the spokesperson for the Election Commission of India.
Sharan has also served in positions under the Central Staffing Scheme, acting as Director in both the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance. Furthermore, she has taken on responsibilities such as OSD for Information Policy at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Director of Administration and Finance at LSTV, Lok Sabha Secretariat.
