New Delhi: The central government has appointed Ashish Chauhan, CEO and MD of the National Stock Exchange, and Sridhar Vembu, founder of Zoho, as members of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Recently, Sachidananda Mohanty, former Vice Chancellor of Central University of Odisha, and Shashikala Gulabrao Wanjari, Vice Chancellor of the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, were also appointed as members, increasing the total membership of UGC from four to eight. Each member will serve a three-year term or until further orders.
Chauhan also serves as the Chancellor of the University of Allahabad, and Vembu is the founder and CEO of Zoho, a cloud-based business software firm.
