Chandigarh: The Punjab government has implemented a significant reshuffle, transferring nine IAS officers to new positions.
The changes are effective immediately and involve the following officers:
1. Alok Shekhar, IAS (1994) is appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Jails, and will also take on the roles of Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development & Fisheries.
2. Tejveer Singh, IAS (1994) will now serve as Additional Chief Secretary, Local Government, while continuing his roles in Industries and Commerce, and Information Technology.
3. Ajoy Sharma, IAS (1999) is transferred to Principal Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, and Financial Commissioner, Forests & Wildlife Preservation, in addition to Principal Secretary, Governance Reforms.
4. Rahul Tiwari, IAS (2000) will maintain his position as Administrative Secretary, Science, Technology and Environment, and additionally take on responsibilities in Housing and Urban Development, and Power.
5. Kumar Rahul, IAS (2000) is reassigned as Administrative Secretary, Health and Family Welfare.
6. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, IAS (2005) is named Secretary, Personnel, and Secretary, General Administration and Coordination, alongside her existing role as Commissioner, Roopnagar Division.
7. Dilraj Singh, IAS (2005) will now serve as Administrative Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayats, in addition to his current roles in Transport and Parliamentary Affairs.
8. Amit Dhaka, IAS (2006) continues as Administrative Secretary, Planning, and Director, MGSIPA.
9. Pardeep Kumar, IAS (2007) is appointed Commissioner, Jalandhar Division, replacing Smt. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra in this capacity.
This administrative reshuffle is aimed at enhancing governance and operational efficiency across various departments.
