New Delhi: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, during his visit to Tokyo, held discussions to advance India-Japan collaboration in railway infrastructure and digital innovation. Vaishnaw, who leads the ministries of railways, IT, and broadcasting, met Tadashi Maeda, MD and Chairman of Japan Bank for International Cooperation, to review the progress of India-Japan strategic projects. The goal was to focus on railway cooperation and future technology.
Vaishnaw also met Japan’s Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism, Tetsuo Saito, to discuss expanding economic growth and railway collaborations between the two nations. The talks emphasized strengthening cultural and economic ties through infrastructure advancements.
In another meeting, Vaishnaw and Taro Kono, Japan’s Minister for Digital Transformation, explored opportunities for collaboration in cutting-edge digital technologies that could enhance India’s railway systems.
Further discussions with Masafumi Mori, special adviser to Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, focused on the strategic partnership between India and Japan, underscoring the significant role of railways in deepening bilateral relations. The discussion marked an important step in fostering innovation and strengthening the cooperation between both countries across various sectors.
