Mumbai: JP Morgan Chase Bank India has announced that Pranav Chawda will be its new CEO, following approval from the Reserve Bank of India. Chawda, who joined the bank in 2019, has been leading its commercial banking division and will now also oversee corporate banking operations.
The bank is merging its commercial and corporate banking divisions to improve services, a move that follows a global strategy introduced earlier this year.
Kaustubh Kulkarni, JP Morgan’s senior executive for India, said Chawda’s local market experience will be key to driving growth. Chawda has previously worked with mid-sized Indian companies in his role as head of client banking.
With Chawda stepping up, the bank is set to explore new opportunities in India’s expanding financial sector.
