Noida: Noida International Airport (NIA) has collaborated with Mahindra Logistics Mobility to introduce an all-electric taxi service for passengers. The initiative aims to improve airport connectivity while reducing the environmental footprint.
Round-the-Clock Electric Taxi Service
The service will operate 24/7 and provide convenient pick-up and drop-off points at arrival and departure kerbs, minimizing walking distances for travelers. NIA stated that the fleet will be managed dynamically, with adjustments based on real-time passenger demand and flight schedules to reduce wait times.
Multiple Booking Options for Travelers
Passengers will have access to various booking channels, including a dedicated mobile app, website, call center, and airport kiosks. The service will also integrate with airline alliances, aiming to simplify the booking process for passengers.
Focus on Sustainability and Service Standards
Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, highlighted the initiative’s dual focus on sustainability and convenience. “This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainable mobility while addressing the growing need for efficient airport transportation,” he said.
To ensure service quality, drivers will undergo thorough training on airport protocols and customer service standards to deliver a seamless travel experience.
Promoting Sustainable Mobility
The partnership aligns with NIA’s goals of adopting eco-friendly practices and integrating advanced mobility solutions. By offering an electric taxi service, the upcoming airport is positioning itself as a leader in promoting electric mobility in the aviation sector.
The initiative is a step toward reducing carbon emissions and aligns with broader efforts to introduce sustainable infrastructure in India’s transportation sector.
