Hyderabad: In an effort to expand its global delivery footprint, HCLTech announced the opening of a new technology center in Hyderabad. Vijaykumar, Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of HCLTech highlighted Hyderabad’s world-class infrastructure and a high-quality talent pool as key factors driving the company’s decision. He stated that the new center will deliver advanced capabilities to HCLTech’s global clients while contributing to the local technology ecosystem.
The announcement came after the meeting of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu with C Vijayakumar on the inaugural day of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. Reddy welcomed HCLTech’s expansion and noted that the new center reinforces Hyderabad’s appeal to global IT companies. He added that this development further strengthens the city’s position as a leading IT hub on the global stage. Sridhar Babu emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing Hyderabad’s tech and innovation ecosystem. He stressed the focus on expanding these efforts to tier 2 and tier 3 cities to create job opportunities for local youth. The government assured full support to facilitate HCLTech’s growth in the state.
HCLTech has been operating in Hyderabad since 2007. With the addition of the new center, the company will have five centers across the city, with a total capacity of 8,500 seats, according to an official release. This expansion underscores the city’s importance within HCLTech’s global network and its role in advancing the technology sector in Telangana.
