New Delhi: Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) Office Samir Kumar (1999 batch) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
IRTS Samir Kumar’s appointment in NHRC, at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, will be for five years.
Having a distinguished career in railway operations and commercial management, IRTS Kumar previously served as Chief Commercial Manager for the Government of India.
In that role, he demonstrated expertise in policy implementation and government administration.
With extensive experience in the railway sector and a strong commitment to public service, Kumar is expected to effectively contribute to the NHRC’s mission of safeguarding and promoting human rights in the country.
NHRC is a statutory body established on 12 October 1993, under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
The organisation aims to promote and protect human rights, defined as rights concerning life, liberty, equality, and dignity.
