New Delhi: In a move aimed at optimizing the potential of high-caliber candidates, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched ‘Pratibha Setu,’ a digital platform designed to connect employers with candidates who cleared the written stages of UPSC examinations but did not make it to the final merit list after the interview stage.
This initiative, replacing the earlier Public Disclosure Scheme (PDS) launched in 2018, is expected to significantly enhance talent utilization and employment generation in both the private and public sectors.
A Talent Bridge for India’s Best Minds
‘Pratibha Setu,’ which translates to Talent Bridge, serves as a central digital repository containing the soft biodata of candidates who reached the interview stage in several prestigious UPSC examinations but were not recommended for final appointment. These include candidates from:
- Civil Services Examination
- Indian Forest Service Examination
- Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants)
- Engineering Services Examination
- Combined Geo-Scientist Examination
- Combined Defence Services (CDS)
- Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service
- Combined Medical Services Examination
Over 10,000 Candidate Profiles Available
As of now, the Pratibha Setu portal houses over 10,000 candidate profiles. This makes it a rich talent pool for recruiters from private companies, public sector undertakings (PSUs), NGOs, think tanks, and various central and state government bodies.
The platform offers a secure and structured interface where employers can register, get verified, and gain access to a searchable database. Filters based on education, exams cleared, and other attributes allow for efficient profile matching. Importantly, candidates’ data will only be shared with their explicit consent, ensuring privacy and transparency.
Redefining Success Beyond Government Service
With lakhs of aspirants vying for limited UPSC posts annually, many talented individuals miss the final cut. Pratibha Setu aims to ensure these efforts do not go in vain, offering deserving candidates an alternative route to professional success.
By facilitating industry access to a pool of pre-vetted, high-performing individuals, the UPSC’s new initiative is expected to redefine how talent is recognized and utilized across India.
