New Delhi: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has entered into a partnership with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to integrate industry-relevant skills into technical education, with a focus on telecom and emerging communication technologies.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in New Delhi by AICTE Member Secretary (I/C) Dr. More Ramulu and BSNL Senior General Manager Samita Luthra, in the presence of AICTE Chairman Prof. T. G. Sitharam. Under the agreement, BSNL will act as a training partner for AICTE-approved institutions, offering access to its infrastructure and technical expertise nationwide.
The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic curricula and industry requirements by providing students with hands-on exposure in areas such as telecom infrastructure, 5G and 6G services, networking, and cybersecurity. Faculty members will undergo training to enhance their proficiency in high-demand technologies, ensuring course delivery remains aligned with evolving industry needs.
Key components of the initiative include faculty development programs, student internships, capacity-building projects, and joint research efforts. Pilot schemes will also be introduced to strengthen institutional capabilities and promote innovation.
Officials said the partnership is part of a broader push to make technical education more responsive to the demands of the job market. By embedding practical competencies into academic programs, AICTE and BSNL aim to improve employability outcomes for graduates while fostering a skilled workforce capable of contributing to India’s growth in advanced communication sectors.
