New Delhi: The artificial intelligence (AI)-led language technology platform Bhashini marked a key international milestone with its first minister-level interaction during a recent high-profile meeting.
In this regard, a social media post stated: “From Paris to our first Minister-level interaction, Bhashini has officially embarked on its international journey.”
Amitabh Nag, Chief Executive Officer, Digital India Bhashini Division, welcomed a Venezuelan delegation led by Raúl Hernández, Vice Minister for the Development of Information & Communication Technologies, for demonstrations of the platform’s latest features.
The showcase featured the new Bhashini app, which utilises cutting-edge AI and natural language processing (NLP) technologies to bridge the language divide, with its Converse feature, along with Shrutlekh and eOffice integrations, highlighting how multilingual technologies can enhance governance and citizen services.
“Our discussions emphasised the transformative potential of AI, language technologies, and digital innovation in bridging linguistic divides, fostering inclusivity, and shaping a digitally empowered future. This milestone further reinforces our commitment to advancing multilingual digital transformation and strengthening global collaboration for greater impact,” the post stated.
Launched in July 2022, Bhashini – Bhasa INterface for India – offers AI-driven text and voice translation across all 22 Indian languages to promote digital inclusion. The recent meeting underlined the platform’s global ambitions and its potential to foster international collaboration in AI and digital innovation.
