Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ (SNSP) Abhiyaan along with the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, was also present at the event.
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda joined from Haryana, where he inaugurated several health camps in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Health Minister Arti Singh Rao. Union Ministers of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav and Anupriya Patel participated from Mumbai and Delhi, respectively, with Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi, also in attendance.
Largest Health Outreach for Women and Children
The SNSP Abhiyaan is the largest health outreach initiative in India focused on women and children. It is jointly led by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women & Child Development (MoWCD).
Under the campaign, over 10 lakh health camps will be organised till 2nd October across the country at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), District Hospitals, and other government health facilities.
The campaign will focus on preventive, promotive, and curative services at the community level. It will strengthen screening, early detection, and treatment for non-communicable diseases, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease. It will also promote maternal, child, and adolescent health, including antenatal care, immunisation, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, lifestyle, and mental health awareness.
Specialist Services and Nationwide Collaboration
Specialist services in Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Eye, ENT, Dental, Dermatology, and Psychiatry will be mobilised through Medical Colleges, District Hospitals, Central Government institutions, and private hospitals.
Institutions such as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Defence and Railway hospitals, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals, Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) centres, and Institutes of National Importance (INIs) will support the effort.
Private sector health facilities have also offered support, which is expected to further expand the scale, quality, and outreach of the initiative.
