Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh is seeking deeper engagement with Taiwan to attract investments in semiconductors, data centres, and advanced technology sectors. A high-level meeting held on Monday at the Invest UP office in Lucknow, chaired by Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand, brought together state officials, industry leaders, and Taiwanese experts to explore potential collaborations. The discussions focused on joint ventures and long-term partnerships that could align Taiwan’s global expertise in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing with Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in data-driven industries.
Among the participants were Suresh Chandra, Director at STQC, Suresh Kumar Tulluri, CEO of Supermicro, Sanjeev Mehta, Co-founder and Global CEO of Akashaverse, and IIT Kanpur professor Nachiket Tiwari. The meeting highlighted areas where the state could provide a competitive environment for high-technology investments, particularly in data centres and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). Officials emphasised that cities such as Noida, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Agra offer scalable commercial space, reliable infrastructure, and access to a skilled workforce, positioning them as viable destinations for international firms.
To support this initiative, Invest UP has established a dedicated Taiwan Desk aimed at facilitating investor engagement and ensuring smoother project execution. The move is also aligned with the state’s recent investment promotion policies. A delegation from Uttar Pradesh is expected to visit Taiwan soon to hold direct discussions with industry stakeholders. By engaging Taiwan, the state aims to strengthen its position in high-technology sectors while contributing to India’s broader strategy of developing resilient semiconductor and digital ecosystems.
