New Delhi: Tvasta Manufacturing Solutions, a deep-tech startup specialising in construction 3D printing, has partnered with CEPT University in Ahmedabad to create a national platform aimed at advancing 3D construction technologies in India.
As part of this partnership, CEPT will set up an advanced additive manufacturing workshop inside the campus, supported by a robotic concrete-printing arm provided by Tvasta.
This makes CEPT one of the few premier institutions in the country to house a facility dedicated entirely to research in architecture, materials and automated construction.
Researchers from both organisations plan to explore 3D-printed facades, integrated structural systems, and single-unit printed walls, roofs and slabs.
The initiative is led by Prof. Jinal Shah, Program Chair of the Master’s in Computational Design and Fabrication at CEPT and Kalyan Vaidyanathan, CTO (Construction) at Tvasta.
After the recently signed MoU, the new facility is expected to be operational in the coming months.
The collaboration will support teaching studios, applied research and real-world prototypes aimed at addressing India’s construction challenges.
Tvasta and CEPT will also offer studio courses focused on design for additive manufacturing, while jointly pursuing R&D in energy-efficient building systems and structural behaviour of 3D-printed components.
CEPT officials said the partnership strengthens the university’s vision for technological innovation in the built environment.
