Deepika Tadi, 35, a resident of Sakhinetipalli Mandal Antarvedi in East Godavari district did not imagine that one day she would be addressing someone, leave alone a United Nations forum just a few months ago. Come June 8, the resident of Sakhinetipalli Mandal Antarvedi in East Godavari district will be the representative from India who would be sharing her story. In all, the UN selected 45 delegates from across the world for an online conference organised by the United Nations (UN).

Speaking to APAC News Network, a delighted Deepika said, “We learnt a great deal about the harm that man causes to the environment. We segregate 15 items including plastic, bottles, cloth and other things every day and send it for recycling.” She further adds, “I am deeply grateful to Green Worms for selecting me to be a part of the development program.”
Deepika will speak about her work and share her experiences to mitigate ocean plastic as part of the ‘Antarvedi Zero-Waste Initiative’. Deepika says, “Zero waste mission is the goal. People need to realise that fishes are dying in the oceans due to pollution. She also gives credit to her husband Pradeep who has stood by her in her effort.”
