Chandigarh: Even though the fear of the third wave of covid is there, Punjab government still decides to open schools from 2 August. In a recent order, the state government has said that schools can reopen by maintaining covid related protocols.
A section of the medical experts have recently opined that children are less vulnerable to the virus. This might have led to this decision by the Punjab government, suggests commentators. Though covid restrictions are in place in the state till 10 August.
In a fresh order, the Punjab government’s home affairs and justice department wrote that to contain and manage COVID-19, restrictions imposed are extended up to 10th August 2021.
“All schools are allowed to open for all classes from 2nd August 2021, they shall follow proper protocol to ensure COVID-19 appropriate behaviour,” the order stated.
