Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh education department has introduced a new program to help children who have not had formal pre-primary education. It’s a 12-week course for kids starting Class One directly, focusing on early literacy, numeracy, and social skills through fun activities.
This module helps students adjust to classrooms and focuses on the importance of early education, following the National Education Policy’s focus on pre-primary learning through play.
A government spokesperson said, “Pre-schooling is a key strategy to equip young children with school readiness. Special efforts are put by the department to strengthen the early childhood education systems.”
Additionally, the state government will introduce NCERT books for Classes One and Two in the upcoming academic session. This initiative aims to showcase the importance of school readiness by providing children with essential skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for academic success and lifelong learning.
The department aims to reach more children by holding the program in Bal Vatikas. They will also use the first 15 days of the new session, starting April 1, for admissions and orientation programs to involve parents in education.
