Chennai: Ashwin Ballal has been appointed the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Freshworks. He is replacing Prasad Ramakrishnan, who is set to retire after working at the business software company for the past six years.
At Freshworks, Ballal will be overseeing the IT infrastructure, systems and operations of the business software company. He was previously working as the EVP and CIO of Medallia, and before that as the chief information, intelligence, and data officer at KLA Corp.
A recipient of the HMG Strategy Transformational CIO Award and the CIO 100 Award, Ballal has a Ph.D. in material science and engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy from NIT Karnataka (NITK).
Commenting upon his new appointments, Ballal said, “In today’s tech-driven world, prioritising the integration of generative AI capabilities isn’t just about staying competitive—it’s about redefining operational excellence and elevating the employee experience to new heights.
