Hyderabad: The state government has published a gazette notification that confirms the appointment of Anand Mahindra, the chairperson of the Mahindra and Mahindra Group, as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Young India Skill University.
The government also named renowned industrialist and educationalist Srinivas C Raju, also called Srini Raju, as a board member for serving as the university’s co-chairman. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had declared that Anand Mahindra would take over as chairman of the Skill University during his most recent visit to the US. Anand Mahindra and Srini Raju would take over the roles of chairman and co-chairman of the varsity for a year each, as stated in the gazette announcement.
The Young India Skills University, Telangana (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2024 was passed by the state government and went into effect on August 14. The state government decided that the University needed to be led by a chairperson and members of the Board of Governors following the Act’s provisions.
