New Delhi: India and Singapore have signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen partnerships in the fields of digital technologies, semiconductors, health cooperation, and skill development. The MoUs were signed during PM Modi’s visit to Singapore, where he met his Singaporean counterpart, Lawrence Wong, and attended bilateral meetings.
The particular of the MoUs signed are as follows:
- MoU on digital technologies: It was signed between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, India, and Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information. The MoU will facilitate cooperation between the countries in the areas of cyber security, 5G, and emerging technologies such as Supercomputing, Quantum computing, and Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, it will aim to skill the workforce in the digital tech domain.
- MoU on semiconductor ecosystem: This MoU was also signed between India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information. Under this agreement, the countries will cooperate for the development of semiconductor clusters and the skilling of people in semiconductor designing and manufacturing.
- MoU on health cooperation: As part of this MoU, the two countries will collaborate for joint efforts in the field of health and medicine. The agreement will facilitate research and innovation in areas of common interest. It will also promote human resource development in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
- MoU on education and skill development: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India, and Singapore’s Ministry of Education signed this agreement to promote cooperation in the areas of technical and vocational education and training.
