Bengaluru: NetApp has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to integrate its data storage solutions into Google’s Distributed Cloud. This collaboration aims to support organizations, especially in regulated industries like government, telecom, and retail, by helping them manage their data securely while using AI technology.
With rising concerns around data privacy and new regulations like data sovereignty, many companies are finding it difficult to modernize their IT systems. The partnership between NetApp and Google Cloud addresses these challenges by providing secure, scalable storage and data management through NetApp’s ONTAP and StorageGRID solutions. This allows businesses to handle sensitive data more effectively, ensuring they meet compliance requirements while adopting AI.
Google Distributed Cloud helps companies extend cloud services to their own data centers and edge locations, giving them more control over how and where their data is processed. By integrating NetApp’s technology, Google Cloud can offer better tools for industries that need strict data security and regulatory compliance.
NetApp President Cesar Cernuda said the partnership will help organizations innovate confidently, even as regulations around data management become more complex. Sameet Agarwal, VP at Google Cloud, highlighted the benefits of localized processing and increased security through the collaboration.
