Hyderabad: NITI Aayog has launched its first state chapter of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) in Telangana, in partnership with WE Hub and the state government. The platform aims to support women entrepreneurs by providing mentorship, digital skills, and access to financial services.
WE Hub CEO Sita Pallocholla has been named Mission Director for the WEP Telangana Chapter, which will coordinate all activities under the initiative. With over 30,000 women entrepreneurs already registered and 400 industry mentors involved, the platform seeks to address key challenges women face in starting and growing businesses.
At the launch event, NITI Aayog CEO B V R Subrahmanyam spoke about women entrepreneurs’ difficulties, particularly in securing financial support from banks. He stressed the importance of giving women entrepreneurs a “helping hand” to overcome these barriers. Telangana’s IT and Industries Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan, announced plans to set up stalls nationwide to encourage entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.
Sangita Reddy, Co-chair of WEP, emphasized the value of mentorship and networking in helping women entrepreneurs connect with industry leaders, access funding options, and plan their businesses effectively.
