Bengaluru: Okta, a leading independent identity provider, has announced the appointment of Shakeel Khan as Regional Vice President and Country Manager for Okta India. This move underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the country while driving secure identity solutions for organizations.
With over 27 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry, Khan brings a deep understanding of the sector, from pre-sales to enterprise sales leadership. Based in Bangalore, he will be responsible for leading Okta’s sales operations in India, positioning the company as a trusted partner in digital transformation and security.
Ben Goodman, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Okta APJ, welcomed Khan’s appointment, highlighting the increasing demand for trusted identity solutions.

Okta has been expanding its operations in India since its official launch in 2023. Over the past year, the company’s India team has grown threefold to over 300 employees, with plans to exceed 500 in 2025.
The company sees India as a key market, given its rapidly growing developer base, which is expected to surpass that of the US by 2027.
Additionally, with over 75 per cent of IT spending in India flowing through partner channels, Okta continues to build its partner-first approach, collaborating with key players such as Savex, ACPL, 22by7, and Valuepoint.
