Kanpur: Chandigarh University Lucknow has announced Rs 40 crore in scholarships under its Common University Entrance Test (CUCET 2025), with an aim to support academically strong and economically weaker students. The announcement was made during the launch of the CUCET 2025 portal in Kanpur.
The university also revealed that it will introduce 49 AI-integrated programs from the 2025-26 academic session at its new campus on the Kanpur-Lucknow Highway. The programs have been designed in collaboration with both Indian and global industry players.
National-Level Entrance Exam to Offer Up to 100% Scholarships
According to university officials, the CUCET will act as a gateway for students to access merit-based scholarships of up to 100%. In addition to the CUCET scholarships, the institution has introduced Rs 3 crore worth of CV Raman Scholarships to support research-oriented students.
Dr. Manoj Joshi, Advisor to the Chancellor, and Dr. Ajay Kumar Yadav, Registrar, highlighted that the scholarships aim to address the financial barriers many students face in accessing emerging tech education.
UGC-Recognized Campus to Launch AI-Focused Programs
Chandigarh University Lucknow, which has recently been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and added to the list of state public universities in Uttar Pradesh, will offer six streams including Engineering, Business Administration, Life Sciences, and Legal Studies.
Industry Tie-Ups Aim to Bridge Skill Gaps
The university’s collaborations are aimed at reducing the gap between academic training and industry requirements by offering students live projects, internships, and placement opportunities. Specialized Centres of Excellence supported by Rabbit AI will provide hands-on training and R&D exposure.
The initiative comes at a time when AI and data science skills are increasingly demanded across sectors. With its proximity to Lucknow’s proposed AI City, the university aims to position itself as part of the region’s growing technology ecosystem.
