New Delhi: Vedam School of Technology has acquired AlgoPrep, a learning platform powered by artificial intelligence, in a bid to strengthen its AI-first approach to computer science education.
The acquisition brings AlgoPrep, co-founded by former engineers from Microsoft and Google under Vedam’s umbrella as it continues to build a tech-focused, hands-on undergraduate program in India. Vedam said the move is part of its plan to build what it calls an “AI-native” curriculum aimed at preparing students for future job markets.
Shifting from traditional models
The Gurugram-based school launched its four-year Computer Science (AI) program earlier this year in partnership with a UGC-approved university. Vedam is positioning its curriculum as an alternative to conventional engineering education, focusing instead on real-world projects and industry exposure from the outset.
The integration of AlgoPrep, which has supported over 5,000 students in tech placements, will enable the deployment of AI-based tools such as automated code reviews, mock interview simulations, and adaptive learning features.
Institutional focus on applied learning
According to Vedam co-founder Piyush Nangru, the acquisition is designed to embed AI more deeply into the educational process. “We’re building not just skilled coders, but engineers who are industry-ready from day one,” he said.
Vedam’s academic model includes 50+ projects, six-month paid internships, and mentorship by tech professionals, particularly from large global tech companies. Students also receive access to AI tools and a MacBook as part of the program structure.
Founded by Nishant Chahar and Subhesh Kumar, AlgoPrep is known for its AI-driven learning features. Commenting on the acquisition, the co-founders said the move will allow the platform to operate on a larger scale and embed more deeply into curriculum design.
