Kolkata: It was a fear. Now a reality. Acknowledging community transmission of corona virus in the state, the West Bengal government has imposed strict weekly lockdown. This was announced by the State Home Secretary Alapan Banerjee on Monday in Kolkata.
In this week lockdown will be imposed on Thursday and Saturday. Next week it will be on Wednesday. For coming weeks, lockdown dates will be announced on coming Monday. Informed home secretary.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a high level meeting on Monday in Kolkata. After that state home secretary informed press that the state government has decided for weekly lockdown as there are some incidents of community transmission in the state.
He claimed that the hospitals are well equiped with adequate beds to treat corona patients.
