New Delhi: New era of digital health infrastructure began in India as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’ on Monday. Through this, every citizen will have a unique ID with their health related information which can be linked and transported.
Speaking at the launch, the Prime Minister also praised the CoWin platform. He said, ‘from vaccination registration to certification, no system is as massive.’
Currently, over one lakh unique health IDs have been created under the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM), which was initially launched across six states and Union territories on a pilot basis on 15th August 2021.
Health ID under NDHM is a free of cost, voluntary. According to experts, ,analysis of health data will lead to better planning, budgeting and implementation for states and health programs, which should be a big cost optimizer.
