New Delhi: Three IPS officers from the Manipur cadre have assumed leadership positions in central paramilitary forces. IPS Nina Singh , currently serving as the Special Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has become the first woman to head the force responsible for securing airports, Delhi Metro, government buildings, and strategic installations nationwide.
Singh, a 1989-batch officer who originally joined as a Manipur-cadre officer but later moved to the Rajasthan cadre, has been holding the additional charge of CISF DG since the retirement of Sheel Vardhan Singh on August 31. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved her appointment as the DG, CISF, until July 31, 2024.
IPS officer Rahul Rasgotra has been appointed as the Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Rasgotra, a 1989-batch officer of Manipur cadre, with nearly three decades of experience in the Intelligence Bureau, will now lead the ITBP, which operates along the Sino-India border. He will serve in this position until his superannuation on September 30, 2025.
IPS officer Anish Dayal Singh, belonging to the Manipur-cadre, 1988 batch, has been appointed as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the world’s largest paramilitary force. He held the post as an additional charge while leading the ITBP, and will serve as the CRPF head until his superannuation on December 31, 2024.
In another appointment, IPS Vivek Srivastava, a 1989-batch officer of Gujarat cadre and a current special director in the IB, has been designated as the Director General of Fire Service, Civil Defence, and Home Guards until June 30, 2025.
