New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navaratna Defence PSU, has announced significant contracts with the Indian Navy, totalling Rs 2,282.06 crores.
The primary contract, valued at Rs 2,167.47 crores (plus taxes), entails the supply of a state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare (EW) suite designed and developed indigenously for use on warships.
This development marks a substantial stride for BEL’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, reinforcing the company’s commitment to self-reliance in defence technology.
Moreover, BEL has secured additional orders amounting to Rs. 114.59 crores since its last disclosure on January 30, 2024. These supplementary orders encompass the supply of Software Defined Radios (SDRs), High Definition Very Low Frequency (HD VLF) receivers, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), among other equipment.
The cumulative orders received by BEL in the current financial year now stand at Rs. 30,776.06 crores.
