New Delhi: India is gearing up for its inaugural ‘Startup Mahakumbh,’ slated to be the largest congregation of Indian startups, taking place from March 18-20, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Organised by ASSOCHAM, NASSCOM, Bootstrap Incubation & Advisory Foundation, TiE, and Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA), the event aims to solidify India’s standing as a hub of innovation and enhance its global startup influence.
The event seeks to facilitate networking opportunities for startups with various stakeholders including VCs, angel investors, family offices, HNIs, and potential corporate partners. Anticipated to welcome over 1000 startups, the event will feature 10 thematic tracks, attracting 1000+ investors, 500+ incubators & accelerators, 5000+ conference delegates, 10+ country delegations, 5000+ aspiring entrepreneurs, and 40,000+ business visitors across three days.
The event is supported by key governmental bodies such as the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Department of Commerce (DoC), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Government-e-Marketplace (GeM), Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC), and Zomato.
A curtain-raiser was organised at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, on February 27, attended by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & Textiles, Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, and Prashant Kumar Singh, CEO, Government e-Marketplace.
The event will spotlight sectors such as AI + SaaS, D2C/Consumer brands, Agritech, Fintech, Deep Tech, Biotech & Pharma, Incubators, Climate Tech, E-sports, and B2B Manufacturing, offering participants a comprehensive immersion into the startup landscape.
Piyush Goyal emphasised the importance of the event, stating, “Throughout the three days of Startup Mahakumbh, the startups will be able to engage with investors and relevant stakeholders, creating a sub-ecosystem to support each other with ideas and learn from the experience of others. We will also see participation from students to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship, the spirit of inquiry in them and help them go back with confidence and talk about the New India and the story of emerging India.”
