New Delhi: Perovskite Innovation Pvt Ltd, a start-up cultivated at IIT Roorkee, was awarded the Indian Oil Start-Up Challenge grant for its work in advancing solar window technology. The company aims to harness the potential of perovskite solar cells to address the increasing demands of global energy and create a cleaner future with low-cost solutions.
Perovskite solar cells have exceptional light absorption capabilities, which make them efficient even in low-light conditions. Their semi-transparent nature, along with cost-effectiveness and color tunability, positions them as a leader in renewable energy solutions.
Professor Soumitra Satapathi, Co-Founder of Perovskite Innovation Pvt Ltd and Faculty in the Physics Department of IIT Roorkee, said, “The proposed technology aims to maximize solar cell efficiency while maintaining the transparency of the devices, ultimately culminating in the scaling up of the technology to produce a prototype.”
