Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Manoj Ahuja has taken over as Odisha’s chief secretary at Lok Seva Bhawan. He succeeded outgoing chief secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena. Manoj is an Odisha cadre IAS officer from the 1990 batch.
He is the 46th Chief Secretary of Odisha. Ahuja will also serve as the secretary of the General Administration and Public Grievances department. Ahuja began his career as a sub-collector for Dharamgarh in Kalahandi district. He was also the collector of Khurda district. Prior to his central deputation in 2017, he served as commissioner-cum-secretary in the departments of Steel and Mines, Sports and Youth Services, Commercial Taxes, and Cooperation.
He was the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare secretary when the cabinet committee on appointments approved his repatriation to Odisha cadre.
