Gandhinagar: IIT Gandhinagar and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, have introduced a double-degree master’s program in civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and materials science and engineering. This collaborative effort allows students to receive master’s degrees from both institutions, enhancing their academic and professional prospects.
The initiative aims to provide students with a comprehensive education combining the strengths and resources of IIT Gandhinagar and AIT. Students will gain diverse perspectives and skills by spending a year at each institution, preparing them for global careers. This program is expected to foster cross-cultural exchange and research collaboration, benefiting students and faculty. Professor Rajat Moona, Director of IIT Gandhinagar, stated that this program aligns with the institute’s mission to offer global learning opportunities and broaden students’ academic horizons.
The double degree program will commence in the upcoming academic session, and applications are already open. The partnership underscores the increasing importance of international academic collaborations, which aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge required in a globally interconnected world.
