Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured orders totaling Rs 1,155 crore, including a Rs 850 crore contract from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) for the supply of an indigenous Multi-Function Radar (MFR) in X Band. The radar, designed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL, will be used for detecting, acquiring, and tracking airborne targets to strengthen the security of naval ships.
The order was formally handed over to BEL by CSL’s Director of Operations, Mr. Sreejith, with senior officials from both organizations present, including BEL’s General Manager (ADSN), Mr. TD Nandakumar, and CSL’s Director of Finance, Mr. Jose VJ.
In addition, BEL recently disclosed securing orders worth Rs 305 crore for navigational systems, thermal imagers, communication equipment, fire control systems, and related services. These orders bring BEL’s total contracts to Rs 7,075 crore in the current financial year.
