New Delhi: Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) has entered a collaboration with Josler Energy and US-based Heath Consultants to introduce advanced gas leak detection technologies in its gas distribution network. The initiative, part of the US-India Low Emissions Gas Task Force (LEGT), aims to enhance public safety and reduce methane emissions across Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at GASTECH 2024 in Houston, marking a significant step toward improving the safety and environmental impact of natural gas infrastructure. Josler Energy will support IGL by offering technical assistance, training, and field expertise, leveraging its experience in detecting gas leaks over 20,000 kilometers of pipelines since 2019.
Heath Consultants, a company with over 90 years of expertise in gas leak detection, will provide technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve operational efficiency within IGL’s network. The partnership is expected to bolster the resilience and sustainability of India’s gas infrastructure without compromising safety standards.
