Applied Ventures, LLC, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials, Inc., alongside Applied Materials India Private Limited, announced the selection of six pioneering startups for its ASTRA (Applied Startup Technology & Research Accelerator) 2024 program. This cohort, the fifth since ASTRA’s inception, aims to support and accelerate breakthrough solutions in semiconductor technology, software, supply chain, and advanced manufacturing.
Chosen from over 60 applications, the selected startups – Augmentus, Cloudsek, CynLr, Distil, Syenta, and Xyma Analytics – are based in India, Singapore, and Australia. The companies presented their innovative solutions in fields such as robotics, cybersecurity, materials, and sensors to Applied Materials’ leaders and partners from the venture capital and startup ecosystems. This year’s ASTRA program also emphasized generative AI, semiconductor and display technologies, supply chain innovations, and market scalability.
Om Nalamasu, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Applied Materials, Inc., and President of Applied Ventures, LLC, praised the chosen startups, saying, “The startups selected for ASTRA 2024 represent the future of technological innovation, showcasing groundbreaking solutions that have the potential to transform industries.
