Guwahati: In a major step towards enhancing education in Assam, Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA), in partnership with Mission Gyan, unveiled the “e-Kaksha” initiative. Launched by Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu at SSA’s State Mission Office, this digital platform aims to make quality educational content accessible to students from classes 1 to 10 across the state.
E-Kaksha provides video lessons in various subjects, including Assamese, English, geography, history, and social science, delivered in the Assamese language. The initiative also seeks to address the shortage of subject-specific teachers, particularly in rural areas, by offering students flexible, self-paced learning opportunities.
Dr. Pegu commended the collaborative effort between SSA and Mission Gyan, lauding the 45 teachers who contributed to developing content for the program. He also urged for the expansion of content into Bengali and Bodo to cater to a broader student demographic. Notably, Mission Gyan implemented this project on a pro bono basis.
The platform is accessible via YouTube, providing equal learning opportunities for students in remote and urban areas. To access the lessons, students can visit the e-Kaksha Assam YouTube Channel. E-Kaksha’s tailored content aims to ensure local relevance, fostering better comprehension among students.
Samagra Shiksha Assam, a flagship government program, continues to focus on inclusive and equitable education. With e-Kaksha, the state takes a significant stride toward digital inclusion, addressing challenges like teacher shortages and creating a robust, technology-driven learning environment. This initiative aims to help students in Assam overcome the challenges in learning and create a more robust learning environment.
