New Delhi: As Prayagraj prepares for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Bank of Baroda (BoB) has announced plans to ensure seamless banking services for millions of devotees. The initiative includes advanced digital solutions and AI-powered customer support to cater to the unique demands of the event.
Digital Banking Facilities for Pilgrims
As the convenor of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) for Uttar Pradesh, BoB will establish two fully operational branches at the venue, equipped with foreign exchange facilities. To enhance accessibility, the bank is deploying onsite and mobile ATMs and coin vending machines.
The bank has also introduced Aditi, a GenAI-powered Virtual Relationship Manager designed to address customer queries during the event. In addition, BoB is promoting its UPI payment platform, BoB e-Pay, by encouraging digital transactions among pilgrims and merchants.
Support for Merchants and Visitors
To assist merchants and tourists, the bank is arranging business correspondents, including BC Sakhis, to provide hands-on support. BoB, in collaboration with Mela authorities, is also distributing merchant carts and reflective jackets to enhance safety and streamline business activities.
Banking Amid Tight Security
The Uttar Pradesh Police have put in place a robust security infrastructure for the event, including advanced surveillance systems to oversee activities and combat cyber fraud. Bank of Baroda’s focus on digital banking aligns with the broader push for secure and cashless transactions during large gatherings.
With over 45 crore attendees expected, the Maha Kumbh Mela presents a significant challenge and opportunity for financial institutions like BoB to cater to the diverse banking needs of pilgrims and merchants. The initiative highlights the role of digital solutions and advanced technology in managing high-pressure events.
