Mirzapur: The Vindhyachal Temple in Uttar Pradesh had adopted AI-powered video analytics to strengthen surveillance at this Durga Temple.
This makes it the second temple in UP to deploy video analytics after the Ayodhya Temple to enhance security and surveillance. Vindhyachal Temple is a religious hotspot, and the AI-powered video analytics will create a seamless security framework for millions of visiting devotees.
The Uttar Pradesh government and the Vindhyachal Temple management have partnered with Staqu Technologies to deploy its JARVIS AI-poweee video analytics solution.
JARVIS will help the temple identify and track individuals of interest through facial recognition, manage crowds to prevent overcrowding and swiftly detect suspicious behaviour and potential security breaches through its unusual activity detection capabilities.
There will be additional emphasis on certain features. These include Realtime Facial Recognition, Crowd and Footfall Analysis, Automatic Number Plate Recognition ( ANPR) and Attribute-based Search.
These features will drive additional surveillance, particularly during Navratri. This will create a vigorous security system to manage large crowds and ensure the safety of pilgrims at this sanctified Shaktipeeth.
“Given the large number of devotees visiting this temple every day, security remains our top priority. We believe this system will play a crucial role in maintaining the sanctity and peace of the temple, especially during peak pilgrimage periods like Navratri,” hopes Somen Verma, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Mirzapur, who is leading the project.
The Vindhyachal Corridor is s flagship project of the Uttar Pradesh government designed to enhance the temple’s Infrastructure, accessibility and security by integrating AI-driven analytics into the surveillance framework.
